Ballet: 2015-2016 Season

What makes our Ballet program so successful? Mrs. Froehlich has assembled a unified teaching staff that puts your child’s experience at the forefront. The teachers of the Ballet program (level I & above) create a cohesive, level appropriate, creative & rewarding full length ballet each year, all the while maintaining a class structure that continues to challenge and improve upon the dancers technique. Quite a feat!

Your child's training is so important to us that we offer a variety of ballet classes to address the particular needs of your child. Children are often encouraged to take additional classes in different levels when required or appropriate. Admittance to all classes level II and above will be with teacher recommendation or by audition only. Students must fulfill certain physical, emotional and attendance requirements to remain eligible for a particular level class. Multiple ballet classes per week are necessary, as well as attention to proper nutrition, hydration and obtaining adequate rest, in order to reach optimum progress. Older dancers should arrive early enough to give themselves a thorough warm-up prior to the beginning of each class thus ensuring the student achieves the most from each lesson.

The following classes are invited to participate in our special end of year performance. A costume purchase and regular attendance are requirements to participate in this performance.

Dance attire & shoes are available for purchase at the dance studio. Open House – September 3rd – 5th, call for hours 203-544-9007.

General Ballet Dress Code, see specific level for variations:

Skirts/dance dresses are allowed in levels I & II. Otherwise all leotards are to be modest in nature. They may be long or short sleeves, tank or camisole style so long as undergarments (bra straps) are not visible. See individual class description for specific leotard color. All classes are to wear pink tights and pink ballet slippers. Hair must be in properly pinned ballet bun, all loose hair secured in a hair net with fly-aways pinned down. Hair snoods are also permitted. No jewelry, watches, gum chewing or baggy cover-ups.  Tight fitting dance sweaters are allowed in cooler weather.
